AOP Anjou Rouge "L'Automnale"

  • Type of wine :

The "Automnale" vintages are wines for your wine cellar, with a potential for ageing several years, or even decades in the great years. The judicious blending of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon makes it possible to combine their respective characters and qualities, while preserving the typicity of each. This Anjou Rouge is a blend of 70% Cabernet Franc and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon.

  • Vinification :

The grapes from our best plots are harvested when they are optimally ripe. Extraction is carried out mainly at the beginning of the fermentation process. Maceration is long and strictly controlled in terms of temperature, so that the structure and tannins extracted from the grapes are favourable for ageing in oak barrels. The wine is placed in barrels as soon as possible and is released for sale in November of the following year. By this time, the wine has aged for 10 to 12 months in oak barrels, allowing it to acquire additional complexity in aroma and favouring its tannic balance.

  • Tasting :

Eye : Beautiful deep colour with hints of garnet.

Nose : A wine with complex aromas of red and black fruits, and hints of wood.

Palate : Complex aromas. Fleshy and smooth in the mouth.

  • Food and wine pairing :
At 18-20°, it will go wonderfully well with red meats and game in sauce, and cheese lovers will be delighted.
